Unable To Print in Quicken for Windows and Mac

Solution “Unable to print in Quicken”

Quicken For Windows

  • Make sure you have the latest release of Quicken
  1. Open Quicken
  2. Go to Help > Check for Updates
  3.  If your Quicken is already in the latest version that’s great otherwise click Yes to install it on the next screen. (See the image below)

  • Reset printer settings in Quicken 
  1. Go to File > File Operations > Validate and Repair…
  2. Make Check on Reset all Quicken printer settings
  3. Click OK
  4. Quicken will show you the result via DATA_LOG if you found any errors into DATA_LOG immediately contact Quicken Technical Support

If above steps don’t work for you try to troubleshoot the printer problems in Quicken that are given below

  • Printer Setup for Reports/Graphs…
  1.  Go to File > Printer Setup > For Reports/Graphs…
  2. Click on Drop down arrow and
  3. Make sure printer set as Quicken PDF printer on null
  4. Then Click OK
  • Printer Setup for Printing Checks…
  1.  Go to File > Printer Setup > For Printing Checks…
  2. Make sure your printer set as Quicken PDF Printer on null
  3. Now click OK

Time to see if your available printer set as default or not ( Windows 10/8/7)

  • Press Windows+R key from the keyboard
  • Run window will open 
  • Type in the search filed Control or Control Panel
  • Click Hardware and Sound from the Control Panel window
  • Click on Devices and Printers
  • Right-click on your available printer and select Set as default printer

First, we need to ensure our printer is connected with Windows computer and ready to accept the print command, to do that

  • Open Notepad or Wordpad
  • Type Test 
  • Click on File > Print (Ctrl+P)
  • If printer starts printing that’s good or if printer still having some issues, you need to reinstall your printer again or the printer drivers.

Notice: You might also face Quicken Error -20 and -30


Quicken For Mac

  • Make sure you have the latest release of Quicken for Mac
  1.  Click on Quicken from the top menu
  2.  Click Check for Updates
  3.  If Quicken is already running with the latest release that’s great or if not you’ll get three options Skip This Version, Remind Me Later and Install Update
  4. Click on Install Update to run your Quicken with the latest release
  • Reset Mac Printing System
  1. Click on Apple icon from the top menu bar
  2. Choose System Preferences…
  3. From the System Preferences window select Printers & Scanners
  4. Right-click on your printer and choose Reset Printer System…
  5. Now your printer is disabled to enable it again, first Unplug and plug your printer again with your Mac (Printer must be Online)
  6. Click again on Apple Icon > System Preferences > Printers & Scanners
  7. Click on (+) icon to add your printer and choose your printer from the given list and Click Add
  8.  Now open Quicken
  9. Go to File > Printer Setup > For checks, reports or Invoices
  10. Now choose your printer from the open window
  11. Click Apply and OK
