Quicken Error: It’s not your fault (When Using Online Services)

Quicken Error it’s not your fault occur when using online services. It’s a temporary problem and users may interact when trying to download transaction from the financial institution using the one-step update.

Before we come on the solutions steps let’s have a look on its causes

List of Causes Quicken Error It’s Not Your Fault

  • Change in system internet settings
  • Problem with Internet Service Provider
  • Temporary server problem from bank or Quicken

Quick Note: You may face following error codes when using online services

It may be the temporary server issue please wait 12-24 hours to get it fixed by your bank but in case if it does exist afterward proceed with the below steps. 

Steps to fix Quicken Error It’s Not Your Fault

STEP ONE: Make sure Quicken is running with the latest release

  • Open Quicken
  • Go to Help > Check for Updates
  • If Quicken is up to date that’s great or if not you’ll get a notification to install the latest release on the next screen
  • Click Yes to install it
  • It may take some time or get an exit for installing the latest update, but you don’t need to worry about your work it will be saved.

STEP TWO: Reset Internet Settings

Windows 8 and 10

  • Close Quicken
  • Press (Windows Key + R) together
  • The Run box will pop out type in Control or Control Panel
  • Click on Network and Internet
  • Go to Internet Options
  • Click on the Advanced tab 
  • Under setting scroll downwards and make sure Use TLS 1.2 is checked
  • Click on Restore advanced settings
  • Click Apply and then OK

After following the above steps if you face any OL or CC error codes in between downloading the transaction from the bank using one step update please proceed with STEP THREE

STEP THREE: Deactivate the accounts

  • Go to Tools > Account List (Ctrl+A)
  • Click Edit on the account that has this error code
  • Go to Online Services
  • Click Deactivate
  • Click Yes to confirm account deactivation
  • Hit OK and Done.

Reactivate the deactivated account

  • Go to Tools > Account List (Ctrl+A)
  • Click Edit on the account who has any of these error code
  • Select Online Services
  • Click Set up Now…
  • Type your financial institution credential (Username/Password)
  • Make a check on Save this password  (It may ask you to put Vault password or type Quicken ID & password)

Important:  As Quicken is no more part of Intuit it’s necessary to all the users to create Quicken ID 

  • Click Connect
  • Once account found LINK the account instead of adding it

  • Click Next and then Finish
  • Do the same for the other account that got deactivated
