Quicken Error CC-900 (When Updating Accounts)

Quicken Error CC-900 arise when downloading the transactions from the bank to Quicken using one step updates service. It’s a temporary error because of the sudden server’s timeout.

  • Server timeout temporary
  • Quicken isn’t running with the latest release

STEP ONE: Wait for 24-48 business hours

As this is a temporary issue you need to wait for 24-48 hours because it may get resolved automatically but in case if the same problem exists after waiting for that long, please proceed with below steps.

STEP TWO: Ensure that Quicken is running with the latest release

  • Open Quicken
  • Go to Help > Check for Updates
  • If Quicken is up to date that’s great or if not you’ll get a notification to install the latest release on the next screen
  • Click Yes to install it
  • It may take some time or move out for installing the latest update, but you don’t need to worry about your work it will be saved.

STEP THREE: Refresh Online Banking Information

  • Go the particular account from Account Bar that is in question
  • Click on the right side gear icon with downwards arrow (Ctrl+Shift+N)
  • Click on Update now (Ctrl+Alt+U)
  • Make a checkbox and type password on the particular account
  • Click Update Now
  • Alright, One Step Update Summary will show you the status of an account

STEP FOUR: Deactivate account that has this error

  • Go to Tools > Account List (Ctrl+A)
  • Click Edit on the account that has this error code
  • Go to Online Services
  • Click Deactivate
  • Click Yes to confirm account deactivation
  • Hit OK and Done.
  • Do the same for other accounts that have Quicken Error Code CC-900

STEP FIVE: Reactivate the account

  • Go to Tools > Account List (Ctrl+A)
  • Click Edit on the account who has any of these error code
  • Select Online Services
  • Click Set up Now…
  • Type your financial institution credential (Username/Password)
  • Make a check on Save this password  (It may ask you to put Vault password or type Quicken ID & password)

Important:  As Quicken is no more part of Intuit it’s necessary to all the users to create Quicken ID 

  • Click Connect
  • Once account found LINK the account instead of adding it

  • Click Next and then Finish
  • Do the same for the other accounts that are in question
