  1. Log in to your bank’s website Eg. www.chase.com, www.citibank.com etc.
  2. Go to the download page and click download to Quicken
  3. Now follow the onscreen instructions to update your bank account

Simple Steps to fix Quicken Error CC-581

STEP ONE: Ensure that you’re with the latest Quicken release.

  • Open Quicken
  • Go to Help > Check for Updates
  • If Quicken is up to date that’s great or if not you’ll get a notification to install the latest release on the next screen
  • Click Yes to install it
  • It may take some time or move out for installing the latest update, but you don’t need to worry about your work it will be saved.

STEP TWO: Refresh Online Banking Information

  • Go the particular account from Account Bar that has this error code
  • Click on the right side gear icon with downwards arrow or press Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Click on Update now or press Ctrl+Alt+U
  • Make a checkbox  and type password on the particular account
  • Click Update Now
  • Alright, One Step Update Summary will show you the status
  • If Account fully updated that’s great or still having Quicken Error CC-581 proceed with further steps

STEP THREE: Deactivate and Reactivate account that causing this error

Deactivate the account

  • Open Quicken
  • Go to Tools >  Account List (Ctrl+A)
  • Click on Edit for the account that has an error code
  • Select Online Services
  • Click Deactivate and Yes to confirm

We’ll take some extra steps to ensure the status of Quicken files

  • Go to Files > File Operations > Validate and Repair…
  • Make a check only on Validate File and click OK
  • Once validation has been completed you’ll get to know about the status of Quicken file via DATA_LOG. If you find any error into the logs please contact Quicken Technical Support

Reactivate the Account

  • Go to Tools > Account List (Ctrl+A)
  • Click on Edit for the same account that experience Quicken error CC-581
  • Select Online Services and click Set up Now…
  • On the next screen, you’ll ask for your financial institution logins (username and password)
  • Click Save this password (Optional) afterward, it may ask you for Quicken vault password or Quicken ID and Password

Information: After the separation of Quicken from Intuit Inc. it’s necessary to create Quicken ID

  • Click Connect
  • In the process to reactivate your account quicken will pull up your bank information, make sure to LINK it instead of adding it again. (See an image below)
