QuickBooks Desktop Display Issues (Windows)

QuickBooks is used for business financial purposes like paying bills, downloading transactions, reporting, budgeting, etc. As we all know this is software anything can happen anytime so today we’re going to discuss one of the major topics “QuickBooks Desktop Display Issues.“

You may encounter this problem when the high-resolution display is not optimized on your computer.

Causes for QuickBooks Display Issues

1. Transactions forms don’t fit the screen
2. The sizing icon at the top right window doesn’t appear
3. A field overwrites and covers its label.
4. Button not found
5. Screen gets deformed when you maximize or minimize it

4 Simple Steps to fix QuickBooks Desktop Display Issues

Quick Note: Solution steps may vary according to the Windows version.

STEP ONE: Change QuickBooks DPI Settings

1. Make a right-click on the QuickBooks desktop icon
2. Go to Properties > Compatibility tab
3. Select Disable display scaling on high DPI settings.
4. Select Apply and then OK
5. Now open QuickBooks and see if the same problem still exists, follow the net steps

OR

1. Make a right-click on the QuickBooks desktop icon
2. Go to Properties > Compatibility tab
3. Select Change high DPI settings
4. Check to Override high DPI scaling behavior
5. Then select System (Enhanced)
6. Click OK

STEP TWO: Change the Desktop View Preferences

1. Open your QuickBooks desktop company file
2. Go to Edit > Preferences
3. Select Desktop View > My Preferences
4. Shift view from Multiple Windows to One Window

STEP THREE: Change in Windows DPI settings

Windows 10

1. Make a right-click on your desktop screen
2. Select Display Settings
3. Under the Scale and Layout section, make sure Change the size of text, apps, and other items is set as 100%. If not, you can do it from the drop-down menu. (See an image below)
4. Now Restart your computer to implement the changes

QuickBooks Display Issues

Windows 8, 8.1 or 7

1. Make a right-click on your desktop screen and select Screen Resolution
2. Select Make text and other items larger or smaller at the bottom
3. Select the circle next to the Smaller – 100%
4. Now Reboot your computer to implement the changes

STEP FOUR: Edit the Screen Resolution Settings

Windows 10

1. Make a right-click on your desktop screen and select Display Settings
2. Under, Display resolution select 1920 x 1080 (Highly Recommended). If 1920 x 1080 is not available, select your resolution at least 1024 x 768.
3. Click on Keep Changes to save the settings

Windows 8, 8.1 or 7

1. Right-click on your desktop screen and select Screen Resolution
2. From the Display resolution drop-down menu choose at least 1024 x 768. If a higher resolution is available please go with that.
